For those of you who don't know, these pictures are of my grandma and grandpa. They are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. They both love the Lord and it has showed in their daily lives. My grandma is 84 and my grandpa is 96...they have lead some of the most amazing lives. I have never heard my grandpa raise his voice and my grandma, I believe, has always been a GREAT example of a proverbs 31 woman. Some of the first time hearing about the Lord came from them. They did not get saved until a little later in adulthood. My grandma and grandpa had adopted a son in 1950 while living in the house that they currently live in.....my grandpa built that house with his own hands and it has withstood all these years. Back in 1954, their son who's name was Mark was trying to cross the street to go to a little store that used to be there directly across from their driveway. As their little Mark was crossing the street, a young man who was speeding to the ferry hit Mark as he was crossing...he did not survive. There is a lot more to the story than that, but only my grandma can tell it as it was. I do know that it was at their lowest moment watching their son pass away on that street that they felt the Lords presence. And that is when they turned their hearts and lives to the Lord. They have been living faithfully and serving him ever since. I believe they would even tell you that if it had not been for that experience, they still may have never come to know the Lord.
I love my grandma and grandpa dearly. These last couple years, my grandpa has declined...his mind is just not the same as it used to be. But when I took Nathan up to their house to meet them, my grandpa asked to hold him ( he does not even talk much anymore, so this was amazing in itself). He held that sweet little baby and just rocked him and rocked him. These pictures are just priceless to me. What sweet grandparents I have. I love them dearly and just thought I would share a little of them with you.

Wow... that is an amazing story!! So sad, yet so joyful at the same time! What an unbelievable thing to have to go through...can you imagine having that happen to you today to your 4 year old? OH MY! I can't!! Yet, they went through that. Wow. Praise God that they got saved through that and not bitter. How precious that you can share your little ones with them. I'm so glad you took photos!!
I loved reading that bittersweet story. I pray you share that with your children. What a wonderful story of our Comforter's grace. Sweet, sweet, sweet post. We have pictures of our Isaac with an auntie of whom was very dear. Shortly after the pictures were taken, she passed. He will never know her - but he has pictures of his Auntie Eunice that he can look at in the future.
