A special gift given to us yesterday......

I am sitting here amazed at how the Lord works. Yesterday was no exception.
It has been my hearts desire for a few weeks to have a backpack carrier for my two younger children. We had one when our oldest was smaller and it was so nice. We live fairly close to a park that has a lot of hiking trails and such and I really want to be able to take the kids all out this summer. The two older boys can hike with us, but not the babies. We could put them in one of the strollers, but they aren't rugged....and you can never go off trail with them. So, my husband and I have been looking...BUT WOW HAVE THEY GOTTEN EXPENSIVE!!! We even looked online at the exchange and the cheapest one we could find was $100. I have been checking craigslist and such a few times a week....but have found nothing too special and surely not a special price.
But back to yesterday, we were out in our yard working and our neighbors came over. I thought they were just coming to say hi because it was probably a pretty funny sight with these two women and then ALL these children running around and raking and digging and sitting in the dirt. When they came over, they proceeded to tell me how they were at one of their children's house in a town a couple house away (our neighbors are older...in their 60s I would say) the other day when they saw this backpack sitting in their garage. Our neighbors asked their daughter what she was going to do with THEM because their kids have outgrown them. She said they were going to goodwill!!! Our neighbors then asked if they could bring one home because they thought someone could maybe use one. Well....that someone was US!!! We have not even talked to our neighbors in months other than saying hi. They had no idea we were looking for one of these. When our neighbors walked over yesterday, and they asked if we could possibly use that backpack.....Uh.....YES!!! Praise the Lord...what a blessing. I explained to them how I had been looking this past week at them but just couldn't bring myself to pay so much. That is when they told me they had two of them, but didn't know if their daughter had taken the other one to goodwill yet or not. They didn't know we could have used both or they would have brought them both. So she went home and called her...and THEY STILL HAVE IT!!! Praise the Lord again. They are going to hang onto it until they come over again and then we can have it.
I look at this and I completely see the Lords hand in this all. He knew that it was my desire to have one (or two) of these for our younger children. And what is the likelihood of someone having two of them at the same time that they are just giving away (they had twins). And for someone else to see them and just think of us when we had not even shared with them that we were wanting them.....that was God at work completely!!! No other way to describe it!!! Worth sharing to me

OH....THAT kind of backback... when you told me the story and said "large framed backback for the kids"... I thought you meant backpacks for them to carry! Not backpacks to carry them! NOW I see why they were so expensive when you were shopping for them! LOL! I kept wondering why you couldn't find backpacks cheaper than $100 for the kids?! LOL Well, Praise the Lord for this blessing, those ARE expensive! I love these types of carriers, they are my favorite!!
