Hot sun, rain, strong winds, pregnant momma running everywhere...oh help me.....

I got up early this morning with every intention of finishing our garage. When we use the air conditioning.....all of the condensation water has been pumping into our garage. They never installed it corrrectly, and instead of the water from the pump draining to the drain pipe on the outside of the house, they left the hose dangling and it has been draining straight into the garage. So we have had our work cut out this past week. I went through EVERYTHING, crated and labeled things and we tossed over two truckloads of things...as well as taking many things to goodwill. It has been abig task...I have been spending 10+ hours a day outside for the past week. I knew this morning that we could probably finish up today. We got a lot done while Josh was home...before he had to go to work today, we even mopped the floor in the garage to clean up all the sheet rock mess as well as from the flooding so many times. We started moving things back in...but he had to leave for work. So it was up to the boys and me. Through all of this, my husband had built a picnic table a while back, and I have been working on staining and varnishing it...so we can actually use it. It is very nice....7 feet long..wooden. This morning, I put one coat of varnish/sealant in it and then waited until tonight to put a second coat on...because it was too hot in the beating sun. I had it sitting out in our driveway on a big piece of cardboard. I put the second coat on tonight around 1630 once it wasnt quite so hot in the driveway. I was still roasting though. After I did that, it was back to finishing the garage. I got most things put away...except of course the picnic table...needs to stay out and dry overnight, our brand new riding lawnmower which has been sitting outside under a tarp for a week anyhow, the HUGE bagger which was still in the box also, the new exercise bike we got which was still in the box sitting under our front porch, and ALL the BIG odds and ends that were left sitting out. These things had all been outside and no worries because it has been dry and it is pretty safe. Joshs truck was also sitting in the driveway full of junk from the garage. After I got the garage taken care of, it was off to water the grass.....all 18,000 sf of it. I finished the grass and came inside. Got my 4th load of laundry for the day going...and then got all 4 kiddos in the bath and bathed. I sat down for a few minutes before getting ready to get myself in the shower. I already had everything sitting out. ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A BIG CRASH!! I went outside just to check it out and it was soooooo windy. Everything was blowing everywhere!! The trash fromt he truck was all over the yard....everything in the driveway was blown over including the trash can....and it was so windy and dark in the sky. I was just out there 30 min ago and it was completely sunny and beautiful. Now it was dark and stormy. So as I am picking this all up, I feel a rain drop. WHAT...rain!?!?! What am I gonna do? I stopped and prayed because I knew I was in trouble. I just finished the picnic table..it could NOT get wet..and the riding mower and exercise bike were still sitting outside. There is no way I could move it all....but it HAD to get out of the rain. Praise the Lord my uncle and cousin came up and helped. We got the mower and table in the garage which is now clean and the truck covered. Then they left...as I cleaned all the trash blown everywhere and moved everything from the driveway to our covered porch. I came inside and finally got a shower. BUT WAIT.......thats right...the exercise bike is still sitting outside. Oh yikes!!! So I go out and drag that huge thing in the box inside the house....only to realize that EVERYTHING sitting under the COVERED porch is wet because it is windy. It never rained hard...just big drops and lots foSo I spent another half hour moving everything inside the house that was sitting out under the covered porch. Not that it was a lot of stuff...just very heavy stuff. But....the dishwasher is loaded..laundry is going...kids are all bathed everything is now safe and dry and this momma is very very tired. We were invited to a birthday party tonight..and I am now so very thankful I decided not to go. I debated on going but knew it was probably more important to finish up the garage. Plus, if I had gone, I would have come home to one huge mess...a ruined picnic table, a very wet brand new riding mower and exercise bike, and even more trash blown everywhere.
It is safe to say..I think I am ready for a good nights sleep. Night all. Lol

You poor thing! I'm impressed by how hard you worked! I feel your pain, though. Last week our washer broke and flooded our laundry room. I was halfway into getting caught up on post-baby laundry. In front of the dryer(on the floor, of course) were the folded clean clothes, in front of the washer the pile of still dirties. I can't imagine going through that while pregnant- I think I would have cried, thrown it all out, hidden in bed and made everybody go naked!! I just get too tired and wimpy when pregnant. Good job, your family is blessed to have you!
