So, the mystery chick (the free rare one that mcmurray sends), which we orignally thought may just be a barred rock rooster..is not that!! Originally we thought the rare chick was another one, but she now looks just like the other ones. I am thinking this one is either a cuckoo maran or a dominique...actually leaning more towards a dominique. What do you think?
We are having a good adventure with all the chickens. I can wait until they start laying..and the meat ones are old enough to butcher. Thinking about ordering another batch to arrive in late summer for butchering in the fall. I like the idea of knowing all that is going into the meat (chicken at least) that my family will be eating. You cant get a whole rganic fed chicken for as cheap as it costs to raise one. It IS cheaper to feed and raise a chicken for meat organically than it is to go and buy a whole organic chicken.
(SORRY ABOUT THE SPACING. I HAVE FIXED IT A DOZEN OR MORE TIMES AND WHEN I GO TO PREVIEW IT, IT IS STILL ALL MESSED UP..OH WELL)

I'm guessing a Dominique! Hey what is the last chick. The speckled one. It is so cute! I love the picture of the babies.... So cute!
Amanda, the last chick is a speckled sussex. I love them!! They are so pretty and very friendly too.
How awesome! What a grand adventure for the children. The babies are so adorable. I hope I can have chickens for eggs someday. Love the photos! Thanks for sharing!
